15 and 30 Hours Funding
- All children are entitled to 15 hour funding from the term after their 3rd Birthday.
- This entitlement is doubled if you meet the eligibility criteria for the 30 hours funding. If you are eleigible then you can access up to 30 hours per week of free childcare for up to 38 weeks of the year. If you are in doubt just ask and we will help you make your claim.
- The 30 hours funding is for working parents of 3 & 4 year old children.
- Both parents must be working or the sole parent must be working if you are a lone parent family.
- Please note for 30 hour funding you need to re-confirm your details every 3 months or your entitlement will stop.
Free education and childcare for 2-year-olds
Your 2-year-old can get free childcare if you live in
England and get one of the following benefits:
Income Support
income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
Universal Credit,
child tax credits,
the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
the Working Tax Credit 4-week run on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
2-year-olds can also get free childcare if they:
are looked after by a local authority
have a statement of special education needs (SEN) or an education, health and care (EHC) plan
get Disability Living Allowance
have left care under an adoption order, special guardianship order or a child arrangements order
